Ultraviolet Radiation to control Bacteria in oil well injection water

چکیده

Biocorrosion is a phenomenon that strongly affects the integrity of materials used in oil and gas industry. Different types biocides are currently to control bacteria industrial water; however, they have disadvantages such as microbial resistance these chemical compounds possible impact on biodiversity due eventual contamination natural water. There several alternatives for elimination or bacteria, among which one use type C ultraviolet (UV-C) radiation. Nevertheless, micro-organism removal systems could be affected by water quality its efficiency can improved using LED diodes lower energy consumption greater versatility exposure high temperatures. This work was aimed evaluate radiation strategy and/or sulfate reducing (SRB), acid producing (APB) present both corrosion souring processes. For this purpose, injection from industry dynamic system flow variation enabled evaluation different times UV-C light (1-20 minutes) were used. Efficiencies ranging between 99-100% achieved SRB APB produced measured two techniques, selective culture media populations, qPCR detecting specific gene population.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Living in flowing water increases resistance to ultraviolet B radiation.

Ultraviolet B radiation (UV-B) is an important environmental driver that can affect locomotor performance negatively by inducing production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Prolonged regular exercise increases antioxidant activities, which may alleviate the negative effects of UV-B-induced ROS. Animals naturally performing exercise, such as humans performing regular exercise or fish living in ...

Numerical Simulation of Nitrogen Foam Injection to Control Water Cresting by Bilateral Horizontal Well in Bottom Water Reservoir

By numerical simulation, a bilateral horizontal well is placed in a crude oil reservoir with bottom water. The upper branch which is located near the top of the reservoir is for producing and the lower branch which is located near the oil water contract is for nitrogen foam injecting. Packers are used to control the alternation between productions and injections. When water cut of the upper bra...

Two-phase Simulation of Well Control Methods for Gas Kicks in Case of Water and Oil-based Muds

Kick occurrence is a possible event during a drilling process. It is required to be handled immediately using a well control method to avoid blowout, financial losses and damages to the drilling crew. Several methods including driller, wait and weight, and concurrent are applicable in the drilling industry to control a well during a kick incident. In this study, typical well control methods wer...
